L.W.O. (Learner Welfare Organisation)

The LWO (Learner Welfare Organisation) grows directly from the spirit of caring parents. LWO leaders are learners from Grades 6-7, easily identified on the school grounds by their brightly colored badges.

Key responsibilities of the LWO include:

  1. Being available to peers who are hurt or bullied during breaks.
  2. Integrating with peers who seem lonely.
  3. Supporting learners who face challenges by creating a safe and welcoming environment.
  4. Making birthdays of administrative and grounds staff special.
  5. Participating in environmental and community projects.
  6. Engaging in outreach initiatives.
  7. Coming together with learners on Wednesdays to plant “spiritual seeds” through acts of kindness.

The LWO plays a vital role at the school, requiring its members to embody their values and display exemplary character at all times. It is a valuable growth opportunity for every child involved.

“Caring is a gift that no one can buy. It grows from the roots of your heart and leaves behind beautiful memories… not just for a moment, but forever.”

MikroMik

MikroMik is an extracurricular activity offered to Grade 6 and 7 learners at Mikro Primary School.

At the start of the year, learners are introduced to MikroMik and can decide whether they wish to participate. Interested learners are required to compile a portfolio of photographs (further details about the portfolio are provided to the learners). The MikroMik teachers review each portfolio to select lead photographers, whose role is to capture photos for the school at sports events and various school functions.
