OWO is a group of dedicated parents who extend a helping hand to Mikro learners and their families in financial need.
How it operates:
Each year, a committee of four parents is appointed from the “Parents Who Care” group. In collaboration with the school’s Social Worker, they identify and manage the needs of learners and their families. Annual fundraising projects are held to generate funds to support learners, and the second-hand clothing store operated by OWO addresses school and sports clothing needs while also raising additional funds.
Support offered:
Break-time food parcels are currently provided to nearly 20 learners.
Assistance is also provided for play therapy, occupational therapy, psychometric testing, urgent medical aid, dentistry, medication, and sanitary products.
OWO funds help ensure learners receive timely support when needed.
Get involved:
If you would like to make a difference, please contact Ina-Mari Kemp, OWO Chairperson, at owo@laerskoolmikro.co.za.
